Sean and Beverly Lincoln, a British couple and creators of a successful UK sitcom named Lyman's Boys, sell their show to an US network. When they arrive in Hollywood to produce the US remake, they learn that their lead actor has been replaced by Matt LeBlanc.
The first table read goes well though Merc still isn't sold on the show. Matt questions whether the librarian character has to be a lesbian and Beverley refuses to deal with him. Sean ends up spending the day with him and they become friends. We also learn that Matt has a very large member which Beverley finds it difficult to ignore when she tries to clear the air with him.
Sean gets a late night call from Matt. Matt has lost out in his custody hearing and is now drunk at a bar trying to avoid a pesky photographer. They drive him home but he tricks them into taking him to his ex-wife's house because he wants to see his sons.
Beverley's frustration with 'Pucks' is growing and she and Carole bond over a joint. Meanwhile Sean goes to a chairty benefit with Matt and flirts with Morning. Beverley is jealous and Sean doesn't do a good job of reassuring her.
We see the scene from the pilot where Bev storms out and crashes her car into Matt's. He takes her back to his house to calm down and they discuss what has happened to the show. They end up kissing. Meanwhile Sean calls Beverley all day apologising but has to meet Merc for lunch to discuss the show.
