Episode 11 - TOW Phoebe's Uterus

29 March 2012

Synopsis: Ross gets Joey a job as a tour guide at the museum. Together they overcome the division at work between the scientists and the tour guides. Chandler is worried that he won’t please Kathy in bed as much as Joey did, so Monica and Rachel give him advice. Frank and Alice eloped and are now trying to have a baby. They ask Phoebe to be the surrogate mother and she seeks advice from her birth mum.

The Good: The Chandler plot definitely flows logically from having Joey as Kathy’s ex. Ross and Joey’s plot is a little silly but it has an amusing conclusion as the other museum workers begin revealing a little too much. Rhonda does a nice job as the loud mouth tour guide. Phoebe is fine in her role as she decides to have Frank and Alice’s baby; it suits her character to do that for her brother, as she was without much family for so long.

The Bad: There’s nothing particularly bad about this episode. It just doesn’t seem very consequential. The supporting plots are just filler and there is no real doubt that Phoebe will say yes.

Best Line: (C) “Well Kathy’s last boyfriend was Joey.”
(Ro) “And you’re afraid you won’t be able to - fill his shoes.”
(C) “No I’m afraid I won’t be able to make love as well as him.”
(Ro) “Yeah – I was going for the metaphor.”
(C) “Yes and I was saying the actual words.”

Best Friend: Phoebe

  • I like Rhonda's dialogue. "Crazy in a perfect world. In a world without white coats and blue blazers. But you are in a real world." The museum part was funny and different!

Most men are not aware of female sexuality!
