Episode 14 - TOW Joey's Dirty Day

29 March 2012

Synopsis: Joey goes on a fishing trip, comes back stinking and then rushes off to start work on a film with Charlton Heston. Ross takes out Emily so that Rachel can go to Joshua’s new club. Chandler is still depressed about Kathy and so the girls take him to a strip club.

The Good: Chandler has his moments as he deals with depression and tries to get over Kathy at a strip club. His dream sequence at the end is a funny scene. The girls going to the strip club is a really good idea. It creates naturally funny consequences and all the girls are good value. Rachel is especially good throughout, first as she flirts with Joshua, then pushes Ross to take out Emily and then gets upset when he ends up with her. She is thoroughly convincing in everything she does and manages to be funny as well.

The Bad: The Joey plot seems entirely superfluous. They really got Charlton Heston on the show just to make a pointless joke about the word stink? What a waste. Phoebe thinking Phoebes was not short for Phoebe is a stupid idea. Just a cheap joke that erodes the integrity of her character.

Best Line: (C) “You know what, I’m just gonna go home and call Kathy.”
(P) “If you think it will help.”
(C) “No that was a test. You know in a couple of hours I’m gonna get really drunk and I’m gonna wanna call Kathy and you guys are gonna have to stop me. And then after that I’m gonna be so drunk I’m gonna wanna call Janice.”
(P) “You should! How is she?”
(C) “Ohhhh.”

Best Friend: Rachel
