The study group return for their final year and Jeff surprises them by being ready to graduate. He tries to sign them all up for a history of ice cream class but they aren't interested in the Dean's elaborate Hunger Games-style contest. Abed goes to his happy place where he imagines they will never leave Greendale. Annie tries to play a Seniors prank and Troy and Britta bicker over making wishes at the fountain.
It's Halloween and the gang are going to Vicky's party without Pierce who isn't invited. He sends them a message saying that he is locked in his Panic Room and needs help. Jeff sees through it but the others want to help and so they all go searching around his mansion looking for the code to the Panic Room. Britta manages to get Jeff to open up about his Dad while Shirley worries about Troy's innocence and Abed watches them all on the CCTV.
Abed and Troy are off to an Inspector Spacetime convention. Britta has been allowed to go too and Jeff and Annie end up tagging along when their plans get cancelled. Annie enjoys playing "Mrs Winger" in the hotel room they booked while Britta advises Troy not to led Abed's new friend take his place. Pierce and Shirly feel left out and so make their own way there before getting sucked into a focus group.
The group's new history professor wants them to think about how history would look if it was written by the losers. The gang also come into conflict with more German students who occupy "their" study room. Jeff's plans to reclaim it are thwarted so he sets up a fake Oktoberfest to trap the Germans into celebrating their own culture, a big no-no in Greendale. However as the group return to the study room they are protested by the rest of the student body.
The Dean reveals that Jeff is spending Thanksgiving with his father and Britta insists on going with him. They meet Jeff's father and his other son Willie and initially Jeff and his Dad seem to get along fine. The rest of the gang accept Shirley's invite to Thanksgiving with Andre's family but when they get there they try to escape.
Greendale needs cash to pay for Chang's rehabilitation. So Abed is making a documentary to impress the MacGuffin Neurological Institute who may give them a grant. Jeff is determined to prove that Chang is faking but Kevin seems sincere in his amnesia.
The Dean explains that a rich layabout is coming to look round Greendale and the college would benefit financially from his enrollment. While he and Annie roll out the red carpet, Jeff distracts Pierce and they head to a barbers. Meanwhile Troy and Shirley take a P.E. class but it turns out to be P.E.E. Physical Education, Education.
The Dean announces a Sadie Hawkins dance and Britta counters that she will host her own Sophie B Hawkins dance on the same night. Jeff pounces on her mistake and she refuses to give up the lie. Shirley and Annie try to set up Abed with dates for the dance and he can't resist playing it out like a classic sit com episode.
The study group are awkward with one another. The Dean tries to help with some puppet therapy. The group went on a balloon ride, crashed in the forest, tripped on berries and all revealed a terrible secret. Shirley tells everyone hers but then they realise that they don't remember much else.
The study group hold a Christmas party at Jeff's apartment. Annie explains that they got a failing grade in History and so she invited Professor Cornwallis to the party. Jeff works hard to suck up but manages to ensure they get a failing grade. Chang tries to "help" by tying Cornwallis up and the gang take the opportunity to try and change their grade.
Annie points out that it is Troy and Britta's one year anniversary at the same time that Troy has prepared a surprise for the anniversary of when he and Abed first saw "Freaky Friday." They pretend to switch bodies and the next morning it seems to have come true.
Jeff approaches Graduation and accepts a job with his old partners law firm. Suddenly the evil study group from the darkest timeline appear and begin to destroy his relationships in an attempt to drive him out of Greendale.
