Why I'm not podcasting about Spartacus: War of the Damned

Spartacus
Hey everyone,
For those who regularly visit the site the answer to this question will seem obvious. Between The History of Byzantium and the Breaking Bad rewatch I don't have much spare time at the moment to continue the podcast coverage of the final season of Spartacus.
I will be writing reviews and I don't feel too bad about it because you can still listen to Jupiters Rooster. Roberto and John do an excellent job and I will be sending them messages and enjoying their take on it all.
My decision was made easier by the decline in quality of last season. I hope that "War of the Damned" will be great but the lack of characterisation last season leaves me worried. I also think by compressing the story into one final season things may go at too fast a pace for interesting subplots to develop. I would love to be proven wrong but I suspect Spartacus may join Dexter, Scrubs and How I Met Your Mother as shows with excellent first seasons that couldn't then touch that quality again. It's particularly sad in the case of Spartacus because it's first season was such an utterly surprising triumph.
The reviews should be with you by Sunday each week and Jupiters Rooster won't be far behind.
Thanks to all of you for your support,
Robin
